Plagiarism Policy

Islamic Economic History and Thought Review upholds strict ethical standards to ensure the originality and integrity of all published works. The journal does not tolerate any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism and duplicate publication.

Plagiarism Screening

  • All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software before undergoing the peer-review process.
  • Manuscripts found to contain similarity exceeding [specify percentage, e.g., 20%], excluding properly cited references, will be returned to the author for revision or rejected outright.

Types of Plagiarism Considered Unacceptable

  1. Direct Plagiarism – Copying verbatim text from another source without proper citation.
  2. Self-Plagiarism – Republishing significant portions of one’s own previously published work without acknowledgment or justification.
  3. Mosaic Plagiarism – Paraphrasing content from multiple sources without proper attribution.
  4. Improper Citation – Failing to correctly cite sources or misrepresenting referenced material.

Consequences of Plagiarism

  • If plagiarism is detected before publication, the manuscript will be immediately rejected.
  • If plagiarism is found after publication, the article may be retracted, and the author’s institution may be notified.
  • Authors found guilty of plagiarism may be banned from submitting to the journal in the future.
