Articles Processing Charge
Islamic Economic History and Thought Review applies a flexible publishing model that includes open access, green publishing, and subscription-based options, providing authors and readers with different choices for accessing and disseminating scholarly work.
1. Open Access Model
Under the open access model, the author is responsible for an Article Processing Charge (APC) once their manuscript is accepted for publication. The APC covers the costs associated with peer review, editing, formatting, and hosting the article in an open-access repository. This allows articles to be freely accessible to all readers worldwide without subscription barriers.
- APC Amount: USD 100
- The APC ensures that the published article is available for immediate, unrestricted access to the public.
2. Green Publishing Model
In the green publishing model, authors do not incur any publication costs. Instead, the author’s manuscript is made available as an open-access version after an embargo period (typically [specify period, e.g., 6 months]), allowing free access to the article at no cost. During the embargo period, the article may be available only to subscribers or through institutional access.
3. Subscription-Based Model
For readers who prefer to access articles on a pay-per-download basis, the subscription model is also applied. In this model, readers pay for each article they wish to download. This model supports those who prefer not to commit to a subscription or institutional access.
Waivers and Discounts
- The journal offers waivers or discounts on the APC for authors from low-income countries or those facing financial hardship.
- Authors wishing to apply for a waiver or discount must submit a request along with their manuscript.
By submitting to Islamic Economic History and Thought Review, authors agree to the APC terms in the applicable model, supporting the journal's commitment to providing flexible access to high-quality research in the field of Islamic economic history and thought.
